Santa Fe 2925

*Begin Foamer rant* If you want an ultimate in North American Steam Railroading, you can't get any better than this baby right here. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a member of the LEGENDARY Santa Fe 2900-class 4-8-4 Northern #2925. This beast is a triple-record holder. She is the LONGEST non-articulated steam passenger locomotive ever built at 120'8" long....almost as long as UP Challenger #3985. She is the HEAVIEST steam passenger locomotive to have ever been built at nearly 600 TONS....as heavy as a UP Challenger. And, thanks to her have roller bearings on ALL moving surfaces, her class holds the record for the LONGEST ROUTINE TRIP of between Los Angeles, Ca. and Topeka, Kansas, a distance of nearly 1,552 rail miles without any servicing. Only needing to be fueled and watered. Plus, with her 300 lb. boiler pressure and 80-in. drivers, she could safely go 110 MPH on the flat stretches of the Santa Fe transcontinental mainline. 

Here, #2925 waits for her turn to restored. Unfortunately, I was told it would be only a cosmetic restoration. However, her sister 2926 is being restored to operation in Albuquerque, NM.
